New Update Solar Power Electricity Rates Reduced for Consumers in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a reduction of Rs. 2 per unit in the price of electricity made from solar power.
The decision was made during the 29th Punjab Cabinet meeting, where other public welfare steps were also approved.
Solar Power Update
This step will make solar energy cheaper for people in Punjab. The government wants to promote clean and affordable energy so more families and businesses can use solar power instead of traditional electricity.
Flood Relief Package
The cabinet also approved a relief plan for flood victims. From October 17, checks will be given to affected families.
Here’s what will be provided:
- Families of people who died: Rs. 10 lakh
- Permanent disability: Rs. 5 lakh
- Partial disability: Rs. 3 lakh
- Fully destroyed brick house: Rs. 10 lakh
- Partly damaged brick house: Rs. 3 lakh
- Destroyed mud house: Rs. 5 lakh
- Minor damage: Rs. 1.5 lakh
Compensation will also be given for loss of animals – Rs. 5 lakh for big animals and Rs. 50,000 for small ones.
Education Decision
For overseas Pakistani students, the annual MBBS fee has been set at USD 10,000.
Maryam Nawaz rejected the proposal to raise it to USD 20,000, saying education must remain affordable.
Students from other provinces who want to study MBBS in Punjab must pass the MDCAT test.
Final Words
These new decisions show the Punjab government’s focus on helping people, supporting students, and promoting clean energy.
The solar price cut, relief for flood victims, and affordable education are positive steps for the province’s future.
