CM Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2025: Interest-Free Electric Taxis and New Job Opportunities

The CM Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2025 is a new project by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to bring modern and clean transport to Punjab. In this scheme, the government will provide 1,100 electric taxis on easy instalments without any interest, so that drivers and companies can afford them. The scheme will officially begin in August 2025.

Main Purpose

This project has three main goals:

  • To make transport in Punjab modern and advanced.
  • To create new jobs for drivers and workers.
  • To reduce pollution in big cities by using electric cars.

Important Features

  • A total of 1,100 e-taxis will be given in the first stage.
  • 1,000 taxis for fleet owners and 100 taxis for individual drivers.
  • 30 taxis only for women, giving them a safe role in transport.
  • Government will pay the markup, registration, and token tax, so drivers only pay instalments.
  • Cars will be electric sedans and hatchbacks with a range of about 300 km on one charge.

How to Apply

Applicants can apply through the online portal run by the Punjab IT Board (PITB).

Charging Stations

The government will also build solar charging stations and service centres to support these taxis. At first, stations will be set up in Lahore, and later in other cities of Punjab.

The E-Taxi Scheme 2025 is not only about new cars; it’s about jobs, clean energy, and safe travel. It will help drivers save fuel money, reduce pollution, and give women a chance to be part of the transport system.
