Three New Submarine Cable

Federal Minister, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, for IT and Telecom, announced that Pakistan would soon get three new submarine cables. These cables will improve internet experience by making it rapidly more reliable. Mobile Customers Reach New Records

In the last one year, Pakistan has seen a rapid increase in mobile connectivity. The minister shared that 10 million new customers attended during the last 12 months. The total number of mobile users in Pakistan has now crossed 200 million.

Such heavy growth suggests that more people are connecting with digital platforms. This also means that the country now provides big opportunities for investors in telecom and technology sectors.

Internet Usage Continues

Shaza Fatima mentioned that internet data usage has grown sharply in the past few years. In the last two years, data consumption increased by 24–25%. People are using more internet for education, distance jobs, e-commerce and entertainment. This highlights how fast Pakistan is moving towards a digital economy.

More Women Are Coming Online

Another encouraging development is an increase in women internet users. For the first time in recent years, about 8 million women started using mobile internet. This is a positive signal, as digital access helps women in studies, small businesses, freelancing and communication. The minister called this progress an important step towards women empowerment through technology.

A Digital Future for Pakistan

With three new submarine cables, growing mobile subscribers, and millions of new internet users, Pakistan is heading towards a more connected digital future. The government believes these improvements will create better opportunities for education, employment, and investment.
