The Ministry of Energy (Power Division) has officially launched the nationwide installation of smart meters, marking the beginning of a new digital era in Pakistan’s electricity system. A spokesperson for the Power Division said that smart meters will provide real-time electricity usage data to consumers, helping eliminate billing errors and ensuring greater transparency between consumers and power distribution companies (DISCOs).
