HEC Laptop Scheme 2025: Latest Update, Eligibility, Online Apply & Deadline

The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2025 (Phase IV) is back with a new update. This program, run by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), is made to support students in universities across Pakistan. The aim is to give young people better access to technology for study, research, and online learning.

Latest August 2025 Update

  • Around 100,000 laptops will be given to deserving students this year.
  • The main launch event was held on July 25, 2025 at Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad. After this, laptops will be handed over through regional distribution events.
  • A media campaign has started to make sure every eligible student knows about the scheme.

Who Can Apply?

This program welcomes applications from students enrolled in:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil, and PhD programs at HEC-recognized public universities.
  • Students must have at least 60% marks or 2.8 CGPA in their latest exams.
  • Special quota: 18% laptops for Balochistan students and 5% for distance learners (Virtual University and AIOU) .

How to Apply Online

  1. Go to the official PM Youth Program portal or the HEC Student Service Portal.
  2. Create your account or update your profile.
  3. Fill out the online application form and upload required documents (CNIC/B-form, transcript, proof of admission).
  4. Submit your application before the last date. (Earlier, the deadline was extended to June 1, 2025).

Merit List & Selection

  • After applications close, HEC will publish a provisional merit list.
  • Students will get 15 days to check and submit objections if needed.
  • After review, the final merit list will be uploaded, and laptops will be distributed accordingly.
