What’s New as of September 2025?
By late August 2025, progress has been made in rolling out the programme’s framework:
- Reverse Vending Machines have started appearing across Punjab, letting people deposit recyclable items and earn green credits in return.
- A capacity-building session was held on August 28 to train participants on green credits and carbon markets.
Benefits of the Programme

Each “Green Credit” equals PKR 10,000, and participants may earn up to PKR 100,000 depending on their verified actions. - Environmental Impact

Who Can Apply?

- Businesses: such as companies, malls, restaurants, housing schemes, and startups.
Basically, anyone able to carry out and document an eco-friendly activity can be a Green Guardian and participate.
How to Apply

Go to the Green Credit Programme portal at greencredit.punjab.gov.pk to get started. - Register Online
Fill out the registration form and submit details of your institution or yourself. - Carry Out Green Actions
Perform verifiable actions—like recycling via the reverse vending machines, planting trees, or other sustainable practices. - Submit for Verification
Upload proof (photos, reports, receipts, etc.) of your green action. Once verified, you will be awarded green credits. - Earn Rewards
Each verified credit equals PKR 10,000. Earn up to PKR 100,000 depending on your eco-friendly efforts.
