CM Punjab Free Livestock Program 2025 – September Update
In 2025, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz delivered a unique application to assist rural ladies in South Punjab. The CM Punjab Livestock Scheme offers 11,000 cows and buffaloes to widowed and divorced women. With a budget of Rs 2 billion, this initiative helps ladies earn income, aid their households, and fight poverty.
The scheme, referred to as the Livestock Asset Transfer Initiative, covers 12 South Punjab districts, which include Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, and Rahim Yar Khan.
It aims to:
- Fight poverty in rural areas
- Empower women financially
- Boost the local livestock sector

| Age | Under 55 years old |
| Location | Residing in any of the 12 South Punjab districts. |
| Financial Status | Poor with no steady income |
| Residency | Punjab resident with a valid CNIC |
If you meet these conditions, you could get a free cow or buffalo and start earning for your family.

Why This Program Matters
Cows and buffalo offer a reliable income.
- A buffalo can produce up to 12 liters of milk daily, which can be sold for cash
- Money earned can pay for food, school, or clothes
- Raising calves can generate additional income over time
Maryam Nawaz calls it “dignified employment”, giving village women independence, pride, and financial security.
Key Benefits
- Free cow or buffalo at no cost
- Income from milk or calves
- Free fodder and veterinary care
- Financial empowerment and respect in the community
- Support for local food production and jobs
How This Program Stands Out
Unlike cash grants that may run out, this program provides a lasting asset. The program is digital, quick, and fair via a Punjab IT Board app. The program also helps increase milk production and livestock growth, benefiting the entire community.
Tips to Make the Most of Your Animal
- Feed them properly with the free fodder provided
